Petroleum Tank Maintenance Questions

I had my tank repaired with fiberglass lining and now it is falling apart. Why is that happening and can it be fixed?

This is normally due to improper installation of the lining or an issue of compatibility due to methanol and ethanol blends.

Tank linings and retrofit systems perform only as well as the installer who applied it.  Tank preparation and installation quality is of the utmost importance when installing the tank lining,

Fortunately, an improper installation can be repaired by either:

(a) reinstallation of a new lining.

(b)  A combination of UL tank systems combined with tank lining.

Armor Shield of America Tank Lining Systems will get you back into compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

We have a fiberglass tank that is de-lamenting and has cracks. Is this possible to repair?

Yes. Alcohol fuel blends and additives being added to the current fuel blends are normally what causes structural failure or degradation of a fiberglass tank shell. If left unchecked, the tank shell may be headed towards catastrophic failure.

Armor Shield of America's Lining and Fiberglass tank systems are developed to help you with compatibility issues and tank degradation due to alcohol fuel blends and or additives being added to the current fuel blends.

Can you repair a plastic wrapped tank?

Yes.  The Armor Shield of America Retrofit Tank Systems are specifically designed to handle these types of problems.

Our systems are also designed to keep the status of the tank the same as what the law requires prior to the tank failure.

Before any job is started it is Armor Shield of America's responsibility to ensure our systems will comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
